Studies have shown that a larger proportion of horses than we would guess have some type of respiratory difficulty – somewhere around 80%! Investing in a full bale hay steamer may be in the cards if your performance horses aren’t feeling their best, have a longer recovery period than you’d expect, suffer from coughing or nasal discharge, or have an increased respiratory rate. The Haygain HG2000 full bale steamer helps alleviate breathing issues in horses by reducing dust and killing mold and bacteria and effectively cleaning the hay. Not only does the steaming process help alleviate respiratory issues in horses by removing allergens more effectively than just soaking hay does, it preserves the hay’s nutritional content as well leaving your horse’s most valuable nutritional source in tact. In fact, keeping the nutritional content, adding moisture and removing harmful bacteria and mold can also decrease chances of colic in horses that may be prone to it.
The Haygain HG 2000 Full Bale Hay Steamer is designed for boarding facilities, training barns, breeding farms, and equine operations feeding four or more horses. Capable of steaming a full bale of hay or up to 40 kg of haylage, the HG 2000 helps improve forage hygiene by reducing dust, mold spores, bacteria, and other airborne contaminants commonly found in stored hay.
