Tack Store Manager

System Equine is looking for a Tack Store Manager to join our growing team. We are looking for an experienced retail manager with knowledge of the equine industry. The final successful candidate will be able to work both independently as well as part of a team, have good communication skills with staff and customers as well as strong organizational skills and a keen eye for detail.

Job Duties

  • Be the face of System Equine – lead by example
  • Train new tack store associates
    • In-depth product training
  • Inventory control
  • Tack store maintenance
    • Ensure the store is safe and well-planned out
  • Purchase orders
    • Work with purchasing to ensure all orders are correct
    • Order correct products for each season and maintain regular stock
  • Work with marketing to promote on social media
  • Run events to bring business into the tack store as well as provide educational experiences for the local equine community
  • Apply marketing strategies in everyday operations
  • Oversee processing of phone and web orders
  • Manage labour as per staffing and budget requirements
    • Approve payroll
    • Create schedules
    • Set goals with staff
    • Hire as required with assistance from HR
  • Budget management

CAD Production Coordinator

Job Duties

  • Prepare dimensional drawings and installation drawings
  • Revise & update existing drawings reflecting design changes
  • Review plans and other customer documentation
  • Serve as information source for production planning & design

Job Requirements

  • Computer literate: strong Excel & Microsoft Office skills
  • CAD experience
  • Ability to work in a variety of computer aided drafting applications using basic operating systems commands & procedures to complete assigned projects efficiently
  • Demonstrates knowledge of proper use and care for drafting construction drawing and identify and resolve discrepancies and missing data


MIG Welder

System Fencing is looking for a MIG Welder to join our production team. The successful candidate will be able to work both independently as well as part of a team, have good communication skills with staff, as well as strong organizational skills and a keen eye for detail. This is a permanent full-time position. Candidates must have reliable transportation and hold a valid driver’s license. The interview process includes an in-person interview and a weld test.


Job Responsibilities & Requirements

  • Read, interpret and follow work orders, process specifications, engineered drawings and blueprints
  • Experience welding GMAW (MIG)
  • Consistent attention to quality and detail
  • Team player interested in contributing to and helping to foster a positive, productive environment
  • Committed to being at work, every day and on time
  • Willing to work overtime when required
  • Must be comfortable working with 14 Gauge to 3/4" thick steel
  • Support, communicate and implement Lean Manufacturing principles into all areas of responsibility
  • Able to work under little supervision, self motivated, well disciplined, good attendance record
  • Work well under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Must be able to efficiently finish parts with precision and care

Physical Job Requirements

Saw Operator

System Equine is looking for a Saw Operator to join our production team. The successful candidate will be able to work both independently as well as part of a team, have good communication skills with staff as well as strong organizational skills and a keen eye for detail to ensure product is cut accurately. This is a permanent full-time position.


Role

  • Sets up and operate Hyd-Mech Band Saw, Vertical Mill, Drill Presses, Mag Drills as well as grinders and sanders
  • Read and interpret blueprints and drawings specifications, such as material, type, and size of stock, and dimensions to be cut
  • Measures work for conformance to specifications and accuracy
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area; keeping steel racks organized and keeping steel for various jobs organized
  • Comply with all company policies and workplace safety procedures
  • Must possess excellent attendance and punctuality

Requirements

  • Experience working with various tools; waws, measuring tape, grinders, sanders, power tools, and more
  • Competency with math and the ability to carry out math equations quickly
  • Must be able to read imperial measurements with a tape measure
  • Must be able to work from verbal or written instructions—cut lists, etc
  • Comfortable working in a welding shop environment
  • Own Vehicle – no public transportation available
  • Comfortable consistently lifting of 50 lbs
  • Able to work overtime as required—sometimes on short notice
