47 Competition Stalls Installed for training Facility

Located in the heart of Nassagaweya, First Line Training Centre is a purpose-built Standardbred racing facility designed with performance, efficiency, and longevity at its core. Specializing in trotters and pacers, the barn is home to a dedicated team of grooms and trainers who work tirelessly to develop and maintain competitive racehorses in a structured, professional environment.

From the outset, this project was about creating a space that supports the fast-paced, high-demand nature of Standardbred racing — while remaining practical, durable, and easy to manage day after day.

We were proud to complete the installation of 47 Competition Stalls at First Line Training Centre, creating a consistent and streamlined layout throughout the barn. In a racing operation of this scale, uniformity and functionality are essential. Every stall was selected and installed with daily performance in mind.

With nearly 50 horses moving through training schedules, turnout routines, and race preparation, stall systems need to withstand constant use while maintaining a clean, professional appearance. The Competition Stalls offer strength and durability without sacrificing airflow or visibility — both critical elements in a high-performance barn.

The cohesive 47-stall setup not only maximizes space but also enhances workflow, making it easier for staff to move efficiently through daily chores, grooming, and horse care.

Prioritizing Airflow & Low Maintenance

When selecting their stall fronts, the team at First Line Training Centre focused on two key priorities: airflow and low maintenance.

In a Standardbred racing environment, proper ventilation plays a significant role in supporting respiratory health. Trotters and pacers in active training require clean, well-circulated air to perform at their best. The stall fronts were chosen to allow for optimal airflow while maintaining safety and durability.

Low maintenance was equally important. A racing barn operates on tight schedules, early mornings, and long days. Materials that resist wear, clean easily, and hold up over time reduce unnecessary upkeep and allow the team to focus on horse care and performance rather than repairs and refinishing.

The result is a stall system that looks sharp, functions efficiently, and stands up to the realities of a busy training facility.

Designed for Horse & Human Flow

Planning a barn of this size requires careful thought about how both horses and people move through the space. Special considerations during the design process included:

  • Creating clear, efficient traffic flow for horses

  • Ensuring staff can move safely and easily between stalls

  • Maintaining wide, accessible aisles

  • Designing a layout that supports daily training routines

Ease of movement reduces stress on horses and improves overall barn safety. With multiple horses heading to and from training, grooming, and transport, the layout at First Line Training Centre promotes smooth transitions throughout the day.

High ceilings further enhance the barn’s open feel, contributing to improved ventilation and a brighter, more comfortable working environment. The combination of height, airflow, and thoughtful spacing creates a space that feels both functional and welcoming.

Built for the Demands of Standardbred Racing

Standardbred racing barns operate differently from many other equestrian disciplines. The pace is quick, the routines are structured, and the focus is performance-driven. First Line Training Centre reflects that reality in every detail.

The 47 Competition Stalls provide a durable, consistent environment for trotters and pacers of varying ages and stages of development. Whether housing seasoned racehorses or younger prospects in training, the stalls offer security, visibility, and comfort.

The overall barn design supports the hardworking grooms and trainers who keep the operation running smoothly. By prioritizing practical features like airflow, high ceilings, ease of movement, and low-maintenance materials, the facility allows the team to dedicate their energy where it matters most — conditioning, care, and competition preparation.

A Facility That Works as Hard as Its Team

First Line Training Centre is a clear example of how thoughtful planning and quality stall systems come together to support a high-performance operation. The 47-stall installation creates a professional, cohesive look while delivering the durability and efficiency required in a busy Standardbred racing barn.

We are proud to have partnered on this project and to showcase a facility that reflects both practicality and performance. Thank you to First Line Training Centre for allowing us to share your barn and photos with our community — and for trusting us to be part of your 47-stall installation.
