Why not both? We asked ourselves exactly this question before introducing our new filter membrane with valves. Why not combine good with good and make something better? And that’s exactly what we came up with: our tried and tested standard filter membrane, equipped with inhalation valves.
And these filter membranes are intended for those horses that have difficulty breathing due to their respiratory disease and could therefore react to the beneficial inhalation with panic. With the inhalation valves built into the SaHoMa ® -II filter membrane, the horse feels even less resistance when inhaling than with the standard filter membrane and then breathes out as usual through the filter membrane. This generally promotes deeper inhalation and better deposition of the aerosol in the horse’s airways. With the filter membranes, we are not just killing two, but three birds with one stone: easy breathing, no aerosol loss and hygienic conditions.
SaHoMa ® -II filter membranes consist of a special filter fleece that is also used for mouth and nose protection masks. This is a very fine fabric that reliably retains aerosol droplets between 5-10 µm and thus also the resulting aerosol. SaHoMa ® -II filter membranes thus prevent contamination of the ambient air and thus a danger to nearby horses or people. This aspect plays an important role, especially in medicinal inhalation treatment.
