It was a little over a year ago that Joe Lane and his crew approached us about the renovation of the paddock areas at Mohawk Raceway. They had a plan for the paddock stalls in place and needed a company with horse stall experience to bring it to reality. Sitting down with the design team at System Equine, the goal was to come up with a finished product that would be functional, very secure, as well as safe for the horses. Having horses be able to stay in the stalls overnight so as not to have to take them to the back stretch was another goal. With the heavy-duty double swing gates, trainers would now have the option of tie-free stalls.
When people come to race they have horse blankets, carts, buckets, harnesses, halters, and a host of other items. The challenge is always how to organize all of these items without simply having them in a pile on the floor. All new paddock horse stalls contain a number of options for organizing gear. Each stall features swivel hooks on the fronts as well as blanket bars, bucket hooks, and lower door fronts, all designed to help competitors be race-ready. The stalls also feature extra tall partitions to prevent horses from playing over them and potentially harming themselves.
Every surface of the brand-new stalls can be washed down with a hose and feature hot-dipped galvanized components with heavy-duty puck board.
